PRODUCT INFORMATION   “GÖBEL Fence Energiser Magnus A 4500 MC 12 Volt”
Our most capable  DC powered fence energiser.
Features:
energy conservation circuits:   Unit puts out full power to burn off vegetation touching the conductor and draining power.   Once power draining shorts are eliminated, the energiser returns to power saving mode.   This feature works even with very long fences.
battery protection circuits:  lead-acid batteries are quickly damaged if drained completely.  only a very few instances of complete discharge will severely damage the battery.   The A4500 does alarms on low battery condition, and stops discharging before damaging low levels are reached.
LED – status information indicators
Alarm output.   Relay output to connect external alarm, such as SMS module, RF alarm module, DC signal etc.  anything that can be triggered by a relay contact.  Remote reset is also possible with the reset input.
Technical Data magnus A 4500 MC

Inpit voltage: 12 V

Idle voltage: approx. 9500 V

Voltage when animal contact: approx. 7200 V

Voltage  at 500 Ohm (short circuit): ca. 4100 V

Impulse energie: approx .4J

Current draw: 30-450mA

Maximum fence length (CEE): approx. 120km

Reommended fence length (depending on vegetation): up to 50km

Suitability:

The high performance Magnus A4500 fence energiser is recommended for all situations where the highest standards of performance and reliability are required.   For example with high value stock,  with very long fence length,  extreme environment or weather conditions.

The unit is designed to burn off vegetation growing too close to the fence.
For best performance,  high grade, low impedance, low capacitance fence wire must be used.  This in combination with the built in energy conservation circuits keeps current draw to a minimum and preserves maximum battery life
INSTRUCTION MANUAL
INSTALLATION:
The Magnus A4500 fence energiser can be mounted in an enclosure,  attached to a post or wall.  The unit is IP24, to prevent any chance of moisture getting in it must be mounted hanging vertically.
A good connection to earth is accomplished thus:  Two earth pegs, driven to depth of at least 1m in most soil in close proximity to the fence.  Connect the earth rods and the energiser earth terminal with corrosion resistant conductors.
Connection to the fence with the included wire and clip.
Take care to connect the battery poles in the indicated direction. When battery poles are connected correctly, the LED labelled “AKKU” will light up green and the energiser will start to pulse.
BATTERY PROTECTION AND BATTERY CARE
The Magnus A4500 fence energiser features protective circuits to prevent deep discharge of the battery.   If the LED labelled “AKKU” dose not light up continuous,  (no light or blingking), indicates the battery is not ready for service.
In case the LED labelled “AKKU” starts blinking in use,  a low charge condition of the battery has been noted.  The energiser will continue to work only for a limited time, then shut down to protect the battery.
Best practise for maintaining lead-acid batteries is required.  Rely on battery manufacturers instructions.
CONTROL OF FENCE AND UNIT
The Magnus A4500 has two separate fence connectors:  A low power connector indicated by a small lightning bolt, and a high power connector , big lightning bolt.  Use the high power connector for long fences and normal stock,  the low power connector for short fences and sensitive stock.
Both fence circuits can be used simultaneously.  They are not fully independent, so a short circuit on one, will effect performance on the other.
The fence voltage indicator bar shows voltage on the high power connector only. Voltages down to 5000V are green below to 2000V   yellow only.  No indication below 2000V
The red LED blinks with each pulse.  The duration of the red led is an indication for the amount of energy drawn from the battery.  A short pulse indicates a fence in good condition,  a long pulse can indicate overgrown vegetation, or other conditions draining energy from the fence.
The test connector is used to check quality of earth connection.   connect test lead to earth pole about 0.5m away from the main earth pegs.  Yellow blinking LED indicates conditions are suitable for normal operation of the unit.
PERFORMANCE  AND SAFETY TIPS
Use only high quality fence wire.  The high power of the Magnus A4500 is not suitable for high impedance low grade wire.
Magnus A4500  is not suitable for sensitive animals.   Make sure animals can not get trapped in the fence.  While the pulses are not lethal, prolonged exposure to high voltage pulses can stress animals to the point of death.  Regular fence checks and maintenance is important.
